TwitterApril brought plenty of changes for us here at ProgrammableWeb as well as in the API world. With May right around the corner, now is a good time to catch our breath and shine the light elsewhere for a moment. These mashups, all released in the last month include a location sharing platform, shipping solution, music discovery service and a catalog of free e-books.

This past week 10 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 44 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include 4Shared, Allociné Movie, AOL PicturesBing Maps Search, Blinkx, car2go, ChannelAdvisor, Endicia Label Server, NetSuite, Petfinder, SPEEDY Express Delivery Services, UKMail, Yahoo Mail and Yandex. The most often used APIs this week are Australia Post, Google Maps and HotelsCombined. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Search (7 APIs, 7 mashups), Shipping (7 APIs, 7 mashups) and Mapping (5 APIs, 6 mashups).
