Yahoo AnswersI found myself looking for a family doctor this week and realized that outside of asking friends, I didn’t have a great way to go about conducting my search. This is likely a common occurrence for people looking for healthcare advice so today we’ll take a look at some mashups that help users find information about any number of health issues. More information about each of the mashups is below.

Now you have several options for changing the color palette and the visibility of different objects that make up your base map. The options vary on the amount you can customize and how much work is required. But all three of these APIs can have you map scripting with style.

The most often used APIs this week are Amazon S3, Bing and BuzzData. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Internet (5 APIs, 5 mashups), Search (4 APIs, 5 mashups) and Music (3 APIs, 3 mashups). The list below shows which APIs were used by which mashups:


7 Free Geocoding APIs: Google, Bing, Yahoo and MapQuest

Google MapsGoogle Maps is still the top choice for adding maps to the web. It’s powerful, customizable and for most sites, free. However, Google Maps pricing did encourage several large sites to make the move to other options, most recently foursquare. This week we had 55 new APIs added to our API directory including one for government data from U.S. Department of Labor. There was also an iTunes sales reporting service, identity validation and fraud detection service, fitness tracking service, music licensing agency, stock photography provider, SEO rank checking service and local deals listings service. Below is more detail on all 55 of these new APIs.
