31 APIs Used in 7 Days: Amazon, Bing, Facebook, Foursquare, Last.fm, Twitter, and YouTube

This past week 14 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 31 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include AddThis Sharing Endpoints, Amazon CloudWatch, Cicero, Google Maps Elevation, TownMe Geo and Yahoo GeoPlanet. The most often used APIs this week are Amazon eCommerce, Google Maps and Google Maps Data. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Mapping (8 APIs, 16 mashups), Internet (6 APIs, 6 mashups) and Social (3 APIs, 4 mashups).

Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include Cicero, GovTrack.us, Open Government Data Initiative, and Touchnote. The most often used APIs this week are Google Maps, GovTrack.us, and Twitter. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Mapping (4 APIs, 9 mashups), Government (3 APIs, 4 mashups), and Social (2 APIs, 4 mashups).

New APIs: Book Publishing and Gov Search

Two new APIs added over the past couple of days are SharedBook, for reverse publishing of web content and Cicero, a tool for finding US elected officials by address. There are now 410 APIs listed.
