Amazon EC2Yet another month has passed and with it we take a look back at some of the best mashups from April that we missed the first time around. The mashups below make use of APIs from Foursquare, Google Maps, Zotero, Amazon and more and each was named Mashup of the Day.


20 APIs Used in 7 Days: Google Maps, Blogger and US Yellow Pages

This past week 10 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 20 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include 7digital, Are You Watching This, ArtistData, Bing Traffic, ESPN, Groups Near You, Grove.io, Social Actions, US Yellow Pages, Yahoo My Web Search and Zotero. The most often used APIs this week are Blogger, KooKoo and US Yellow Pages. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Mapping (4 APIs, 4 mashups), Music (2 APIs, 2 mashups) and Social (2 APIs, 2 mashups). The list below shows which APIs were used by which mashups:

78 New APIs: Microsoft Bing, Bloomberg, Gilt Groupe, Navteq and PayPal

This week we had 78 new APIs added to our API directory including an acronym service, securities trading service, traffic information service, language translation service, online learning platform, web application bug tracking service, mobile application backend service and location-based mobile game. 40 New APIs: Google, Facebook Analytics and PayPal Subscriptions

This week we had 40 new APIs added to our API directory including a social platform service, mobile push notification platform, random quote generator, file sharing and hosting site, digital asset management system, vehicle fleet tracking service, social media analytics platform, Google billing service and three ways to take payments and subscriptions with PayPal.
