5 APIs Used in 7 Days: Twitter, Yelp and Zoopla

This past week 6 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 6 different APIs were used to build them. and ome of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include Zoopla. The most often used APIs this week are Google MapsYelp and Zoopla. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Social (2 APIs, 2 mashups), Recommendations (1 APIs, 1 mashups) and Real Estate (1 APIs, 1 mashups).

ZooplaSearch engines have revolutionized the way we consume data. Nearly everything, although it may not be fact, can be found on search engines. As the power of search flows into new ground we see various different implementations of its use. Whether that is finding good food when you are indecisive, creating searches for specific products, or even what song just played on the radio, search is everywhere.  This week’s recent mashups confirm that idea, implementing search in unique ways.


466 Mapping APIs: Google Maps, Bing Maps and Foursquare

Google MapsOur API directory now includes 466 mapping APIs. The newest is the 1Map API. The most popular, in terms of mashups, is the Google Maps API. We list an amazing 2454 Google Maps mashups.

This week we had 50 new APIs added to our API directory including an online payment service, image recognition service, backend-as-a-service platform, video hosting and publishing platform, crowdsourcing platform for startup funding and an app translation management service. We also previewd New York City’s thrid annual BigApps conference. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.


23 APIs Used in 7 Days: Bing, Twitter, Amazon, Yahoo and Google

This past week 20 new mashups were add to our mashup directory and 23 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include DandyId, Google Gears Geolocation, ikregeer.nl, ShopStyle, Summize Twitter Search, TwitterCounter, and VideoSurf. The most often used APIs this week are Flickr, Google Maps, and Twitter. Overall, the most active types of APIs were: mapping (7 mashups), news (6 mashups), and video (5 mashups). The list below shows which APIs were used by which mashups:
