CanvasPop’s new Photo Printing API has already won the hearts and minds of big name photo and image partners like 500px, East Coast pixels (creators of the Photo Toaster app) and Selfless Portraits. Now, any web or mobile developer can integrate the photo-to-canvas printing API into their service delivery and automate canvas printing direct to the end-customer.
Canon, HP, Samsung Electronics and Xerox have announced the launch of the Mopria Alliance, a brand new non-profit membership organization that was created to promote and increase the accessibility of wireless printing from smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. The need for printing functionality to be possible from a wide range of devices has led to an increase in the number of available printing APIs. At the time of this writing, there are 45 printing APIs listed in the ProgrammableWeb API directory.

In this second of a series of articles about encouraging API adoption, I talked with Ronan Quirke, Developer Partner Programs Manager from Xero. Xero is an online accounting platform that’s closely tied with accounting firms. While originally started in New Zealand, Xero has made a recent push into North America and hopes to break Intuit’s stranglehold on the US market.
