So today we’ll take a look at some real estate mashups that have come our way in the last few month. Many of them take advantage of APIs such as Google Maps and Zillow.
Our API directory now includes 40 real estate APIs. The newest is the XWeb Real Estate API. The most popular, in terms of mashups, is the Zillow API. We list 28 Zillow mashups. Below you’ll find some more stats from the directory, including the entire list of real estate APIs.

The geo mapping platform ecosystem has grown a little more as the competition between Google Maps and Bing Maps just got a lot more interesting. It’s been less than a week since we covered the release of a variety of new features for Bing Maps, including the addition of new StreetSide panoramic imagery similar to that used in Google Maps StreetView. At the time, it seems that Bing Maps was making a move to “catch up” with Google Maps in terms of immersive street-level panoramic photos. And now Google has countered back with the release of “aerial perspective imagery” similar to the Bird’s Eye View imagery used in Google Maps.
In late March, Google announced enhancements to their mapping API that gave developers programmatic access to their popular streetview feature. Now there are some very interesting streetview mashups to check-out.
Despite the headlines about the ongoing housing crisis, there’s no shortage of new real estate-related APIs coming to market. We now have 7 real estate APIs in our directory.
