This past week 7 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 11 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include Google Civic Information, iTunes & App Store Search, Trello and World Weather Online. The most often used APIs this week are Google Checkout, Google Civic Information and Google Maps. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Social (1 APIs, 1 mashups), Search (1 APIs, 1 mashups) and Video (1 APIs, 1 mashups). The list below shows which APIs were used by which mashups:
Google Maps is becoming a growing resource for auto manufacturers. A third party Twitter app adds YouTube integration that allows in app viewing of videos. Plus: new geo APIs for the New Year, Google’s hidden Currency Converter JSON API and 28 New APIs.
Dropbox Chooser is already showing up in your favorite apps. Google launches groups migration to move businesses’ shared mailboxes. Plus Facebook updates its Android SDK and adds a payment tool, Amazon EC2 adds support for FreeBSD, Debian and CentOS, and 15 new APIs.

This week we had 81 new APIs added to our API directory including an online repository of medical device information, address book contacts import service, open government data database and sharing platform, online marketplace for daily deals, rating application and a project management platform. In addition we looked at an unexpected SIRI app and the effect of Usergrid’s acquisition.
Today there were two major announcements from Twilio (a ProgrammableWeb sponsor) as its Twilio API continues to expand into Europe. Twitter also announced an upcoming change that will free the retweet count for a tweet into the API results. That and seven new APIs round out today in APIs.
