Need Semantic Analysis? The World is Your Roistr

RoistrRoistr is a project that’s smaller than our typical API feature.  It shows the falling barrier to entry in the API world even in a the demanding academic area of natural language processing and semantic analysis.  The primary Roistr API function is a “best match” engine.  It offers an interesting use case to demonstrate the relevance of the service: take a Twitter username and use tweets from this account to find content most relevant to the user’s interests.


Saplo’s Swedish Semantics Suite Sets the Bar Higher

SaploSaplo is a Swedish incarnation of semantic analysis.  Born out of academia, the Saplo API is built on computer science and applied mathematics.  This company is effectively commercializing academic research topics.  What makes Saplo stand out immediately as an API provider is its list of active customers which includes two Nordic news sites.  This shows that they are serious about the business behind the Saplo API and also successful at convincing experienced media players that semantic analysis is a tool that they should employ.


It’s All Semantic With the New Text-Processing API

Text-Processing.comNow I don’t have a master’s degree in Natural language processing, and you just might need one to get your hands dirty with this API. I see the text-processing.com API as offering a mid-level utility for incorporation in a web app. You might take text samples from your source, feed them through the Text-Processing API and analyze those results a bit further before presenting anything to your user.


25 New APIs: Beer Data, Social Sharing and eBook Search

This week we had 25 new APIs added to our API directory including a CRM for small business, ebook price data engine, virtual learning management system, fax delivery service, phone number verification service and corporate social networking platform. We gave a little extra attention to two of these APIs in posts about a tall glass of beer data and a 6 sided popularity metric. Below is more detail on all 25 of these new APIs.
