5 APIs Used in 7 Days: Twitter, Yelp and Zoopla

This past week 6 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 6 different APIs were used to build them. and ome of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include Zoopla. The most often used APIs this week are Google MapsYelp and Zoopla. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Social (2 APIs, 2 mashups), Recommendations (1 APIs, 1 mashups) and Real Estate (1 APIs, 1 mashups).


Hail Me an API!: YourTaximeter Estimates Fares in the UK

yourtaximeterHow much will it cost to hire that cabbie? The Yourtaximeter API gives access to such precise data that cab companies in the UK rely on it to give quotes. Yourtaximeter provides a tool anyone can use to calculate a fare. The API documentation, other than providing a link to where you can get an access key and noting responses are flexibly delivered in JSON or XML, is rather skimpy. That’s actually a complement: minimal documentation reflects the fact that no coding skills are required.


43 New APIs: StubHub, AppURL and Miniflux

This week we had 43 new APIs added to our API directory including a service to connect applications to HTTP URLs, online marketplace for event tickets, RSS feed reading service, application monetization platform and human body 3D imaging service. We also covered an API to help with the recruiting process as well as a bug reporting service. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.

TaxiMe is an application that provides users with cost estimates for cab fares and trip information for major cities in the U.S. and Canada. This means users can plan their journeys beforehand and know exactly what the costs involved will amount to. TaxiMe’s API allows access to cab contacts and rates for these different cities.
