Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include Google Book Search Book Viewability and trakt.tv. The most often used APIs this week are The Movie DB, trakt.tv and Twitter. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Mapping (2 APIs, 2 mashups), Music (2 APIs, 2 mashups) and Shopping (2 APIs, 2 mashups).
Crowd.fm is an easy-to-use platform created to promote events online. It’s been described by its founder Tekin Suleyman as “an amazing platform for getting events listed with a single click.” The company provides the Crowd.fm API to provide developers integration options.

There are nearly 5,000 APIs. We can connect services and build just about anything. By “we,” I mean developers. Regular people were left behind by what now seems like a passing fad, widgets.
