Mobile Spurs Growth of Payment APIs

DwollaThe growth of APIs owes a lot of thanks to mobile. The reverse is also true, as APIs make possible much of what happens on mobile devices. Along the way, popular API segments have grown with mobile-specific offerings. Perhaps predictably, mobile payments is one of those areas of hyper growth. The most recent crop of mobile payment APIs focuses on specific platforms much of the time, either in addition to or instead of a more universal RESTful API.


43 New APIs: StubHub, AppURL and Miniflux

This week we had 43 new APIs added to our API directory including a service to connect applications to HTTP URLs, online marketplace for event tickets, RSS feed reading service, application monetization platform and human body 3D imaging service. We also covered an API to help with the recruiting process as well as a bug reporting service. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.

Sunlight Foundation Influence ExplorerSunlight Foundation has added an API portal to make government more transparent, as well as an interactive query builder. US government turns to open source for its API management solution. Plus: is API management wagging the dog? Also, Philips combines Hue lightbulbs with API for bright idea, and 14 new APIs.
