MusicGraph API-Driven Party Play App Wins Big at SXSW

MusicGraphLast December, Senzari launched the MusicGraph music recommendation and data access engine as well as the new MusicGraph API. Earlier this month, Senzari opened the MusicGraph API to the public, unveiling the API at the first-ever annual SXSW Music Hackathon Championship. Among the apps included in the list of overall grand prize finalists is Party Play which uses the MusicGraph API to create “a dynamic DJ for parties.”

This week, we had 54 new APIs added to our API directory including a web application for biomedical concept information, a backend-as-a-service for building and maintaining applications, and an image processing service API. We also added several new “how-to” blogposts, from how to visualize Twitter updates over time to how to use the Twilio API.

6 APIs Used in 7 Days: LyricFind, ProgrammableWeb and Google Visualization

This past week 6 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 6 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include LyricFindProgrammableWeb and Rdio. The most often used API this week was Google Maps. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Music (2 APIs, 2 mashups), Database (1 APIs, 1 mashups) and Other (1 APIs, 1 mashups).

Today we’ll cover four mashups that include story narration with Instagram photo backdrops, a tool to follow the migration of monarch butterflies, a text-to-speech karaoke service, and visual representation of road related deaths across the world.

Music Hack DayMusic Hack Day is coming to Toronto thanks to organizers SoundCloud, Rdio, Unspace and The Echo Nest. On August 10th and 11th, 2013 Music Hack Day will be held for the first time in Toronto, Canada where developers will have the opportunity to create brand new music apps using APIs such as SoundCloud, Rdio, The Echo Nest, and SendGrid.

8 APIs Used in 7 Days: ESPN, Rdio and Instagram

This past week 7 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 8 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include htm2pdf and Rdio. The most often used APIs this week are Facebook, Facebook Graph and Google Maps.
