GeoNamesOur API directory now includes 531 reference APIs. The newest is the CanLII API. The most popular, in terms of mashups, is the GeoNames API. We list 88 GeoNames mashups. Below you’ll find some more stats from the directory, including the entire list of reference APIs.

Taplister Launches Beer Discovery Platform

Taplister, assisting craft beer connoisseurs find beer nearby since 2009, announced “its new nationwide craft beer discovery platform that helps bars and restaurants promote and socialize their beer selection across digital outlets with one update.” The platform allows restaurants to update their beer menus in a single location and have the latest version published across its web properties (e.g. website, Twitter, Facebook, digital signage, etc.).

APIs Prove Wine is Better Than Beer

Wine.comAs more of a beer lover than wine connoisseur, it pains me to say it: in the API world, wine has beer beat. Our directory lists 9 wine APIs, but only 5 beer APIs. However, there are noticeable differences in the type of data made available by these APIs.

81 New APIs: Associated Press, Nike, eBay, Rdio and SendGrid

This week we had 81 new APIs added to our API directory including a customer referral service, news content metadata service, corporate sustainability initiative, cloud based email service, eBay notification management service and social music playback integration. In addition we covered WorldMate’s launch of their e-mail parsing API. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.
