TwilioToday there were two major announcements from Twilio (a ProgrammableWeb sponsor) as its Twilio API continues to expand into Europe. Twitter also announced an upcoming change that will free the retweet count for a tweet into the API results. That and seven new APIs round out today in APIs.


Personalization Twist on Daily Deals Among RapLeaf Fund Recipients

RapLeafData Mining is big business. Various start-ups are aiming to sift through user data in order to create more personalized experiences. Rapleaf, which provides the Rapleaf personalization API, has just announced the first round winners of the Rapleaf Personalization Fund. The no equity fund was announced last month and mostly provides services from Rapleaf and partner companies. Among the first round of winners are some great examples of using personalization data.

Personalization API Rapleaf Ponies Up $1 Million to Support Developers

To support the expansion, the company will provide grants and services to companies via its just-launched $1 million fund. The investment approach is quickly joining contests and hackathons as ways for providers to woo developers.


54 New APIs: USA Today, Dynamic DNS and Creative Commons Music

This week we had 54 new APIs added to our API directory including a photo filter and effects service, online music distribution database, web-based helpdesk service, twitter long post service, ip camera platform, geolocation service, digital mail service and tickets search service. We looked in-depth at the Aviary Effects API, which we said could help you create your own Instagram. Below is more detail on each of these new APIs.
