This past week 17 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 42 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include 7digital, Bandcamp, Bol.com , Dailymotion, deviantART, Facebook Ads, Facebook Chat, Facebook Credits, Issuu Search, Mapfluence, NOAA ERDDAP, Ohloh, PhotoShelter, Stack Overflow, Urban Mapping Mapfluence, Urban Mapping Neighborhoods and Zenfolio. The most often used APIs this week are Google Maps, Twitter and YouTube. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Photos (9 APIs, 16 mashups), Mapping (7 APIs, 11 mashups) and Social (7 APIs, 10 mashups). The list below shows which APIs were used by which mashups:
The most popular API, in terms of mashup count, is far and away the Google Maps API, which accounts for 41% of all mashups. But when it comes to the most popular pair of APIs, Flickr and YouTube mashups are the most common. Not to be outdone, Google Maps joins Flickr in a near second place.
