531 Reference APIs: GeoNames, Wikipedia and CrunchBase

GeoNamesOur API directory now includes 531 reference APIs. The newest is the CanLII API. The most popular, in terms of mashups, is the GeoNames API. We list 88 GeoNames mashups. Below you’ll find some more stats from the directory, including the entire list of reference APIs.

56 New APIs: Amazon Redshift, AT&T and Ford

This week we had 56 new APIs added to our API directory including a data warehouse service, checklist creation service, SMS and MMS messaging service, application development for vehicles platform and health claim transaction information service. We also covered an API that helps streamline fleet management. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.

InternetDJ MusicOf the many APIs we published this week, six were highlighted on the blog by our team of writers. In this post, we will toss those six into the spotlight, which include the Internet DJ API. The Internet DJ API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of the Internet DJ site into their application. The functionality allows for access to site news, forum, music and new release, mixes, song of the day, and data about pretty much everything the site has to offer. API requests are limited to 5,000 a day and responses are formatted in JSON.

NPG Grants Developers Access to Nature.com’s Entire Scholarly Database with OpenSearch API

Nature.com OpenSearchNature Publishing Group (NPG), leading publisher of high impact scientific and medical information, has launched the OpenSearch API that provides an open, bibliographic search service for nature.com. The API grants developers access to over half a million research articles.
