in2EraOf the many APIs we published last week, eleven were highlighted on the blog by our team of writers. In this post, we’ll shine a spotlight on those eleven, which included the in2era API. in2era is a web service for selling ebooks through online distributor. The in2era API allows developers to manage subscriptions to educational content, logo branding functionality, and the ability to handle transactions in the desired language and currency of choice.  Online distributors take a small fee. MenuManiaFor those who love good food and great dining, a good restaurant guide is key. What would be even better is if that guide could tell you where the restaurant is, what it has on offer and what everybody’s saying about it. That’s pretty much what MenuMania does; it’s a customisable, community-based restaurant guide for discovering new places to eat within New Zealand. MenuMania also provides the MenuMania API, allowing developers to access the database of restaurant information for display on other websites and applications.


58 New APIs: USGS, Text Marketing and Tablet Publishing

35 APIs Used in 7 Days: Twitter, YouTube, Wikipedia and Facebook

This past week 19 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 35 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include Amazon Elastic MapReduce, Cohuman, Enthusem, GamesRadar, Kynetx, Layar, RealtyBaron Answers, TripIt, Twick.it and Vast. The most often used APIs this week are Google Maps, Oodle and Twitter. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Internet (5 APIs, 5 mashups), Search (4 APIs, 4 mashups) and Social (4 APIs, 10 mashups). The list below shows which APIs were used by which mashups:
