20 APIs Used in 7 Days: Twitter, Flickr and CareerBuilder

This past week 6 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 20 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include AlchemyAPI Text Categorization and Google Affiliate Network. The most often used APIs this week are eBay Finding, Google Maps and indeed. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Search (3 APIs, 3 mashups), Job Search (3 APIs, 4 mashups) and Photos (2 APIs, 2 mashups). The list below shows which APIs were used by which mashups:

Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include ConstantContact, Edmunds.com Vehicle and Sqoot. The most often used APIs this week are Edmunds.com Vehicle, foursquare and Twitter. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Social (5 APIs, 6 mashups), Email (2 APIs, 2 mashups) and Shopping (1 APIs, 1 mashups).


Contactually Raises $1 Million Seed Funding and Launches New API

ContactuallyContactually, an email driven CRM platform and contact solutions provider, has announced that the company has raised $1 million in seed funding largely due to venture capital firms Point Nine Capital and Boston Seed Capital. The company also announced the launch of the brand new Contactually API.


APIs Get Face to Face and You’re Invited

While testing out a new tool I’m working on that uses a variety of OAuth2 providers and thought I’d catalog some of the quirks I came across. This is just for the authorization flow, not for actually making requests once you’ve secured a token. Now that the OAuth2 spec is solidified we should start seeing less and less of these issues.
