The Wevideo API: Editing and Storyboard Tools at Your Fingertips

WeVideoThe Wevideo API opens up this video-editing-in-the-cloud service. Technical information on the API is available directly from the company.  Wevideo provides a solid set of editing and storyboard tools including a timeline and a library of soundtracks. Beyond that, the cloud gives movie editors something else: the ability to collaborate with ease. Because you can create copies of footage, different people can edit the same video as they please.


18 APIs Used in 7 Days: Instagram, SoundCloud and Discogs

This past week 7 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 18 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include Airbrake , Deezer, exfm, GeoNB, New Relic, RunKeeper Health Graph and VK. The most often used APIs this week are Facebook, Google Maps and New Relic. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Music (5 APIs, 5 mashups), Mapping (3 APIs, 4 mashups) and Social (3 APIs, 3 mashups). The list below shows which APIs were used by which mashups:

This week we had 111 new APIs added to our API directory including a form builder service, mobile application management platform, api pipelining service, in-store retail optimization service and cloud storage architecture service. We also covered a cutting edge motion controller and an API for server and website monitoring. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.


Six New Social Data Sources Added to Gnip Enterprise Data Collector Product

GnipGnip, a social media data aggregation platform and social media API, has announced that the company has added six new social data sources to the Gnip Enterprise Data Collector product. The six public APIs that have been added to the platform include bitly, Instagram, Reddit, Stack Overflow, Panaramio and Plurk.

This past week 8 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 14 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include Cloudmade Leaflet, ESPN, Payment Vision Pay, Payments Gateway, Paymentwall, QuickBlox and WordPress.org. The most often used APIs this week are Google Maps, Payment Vision Pay and YouTube. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Mapping (3 APIs, 4 mashups), Payment (2 APIs, 3 mashups) and Blogging (1 APIs, 1 mashups).
