A music service is making it even easier to discover music videos by integrating with the YouTube API. A flight data company upgraded its FlightStats API. Plus: Github integration in a collaborative code editor, a “photo hunt” mashup and 17 new APIs.
This week we had 100 new APIs added to our API directory including a geographic mapping features service, online store and e-commerce product search service, mobile games discovery and marketing service, micro-Apps for Android and iOS and phone conversation management app. In addition we covered an API that helps users stay safe, how to simplify visual communication with Lucidchart, and the Avocado couples app. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.
For a couple years I’ve thought about creating a geo-located tagging app. The idea is that anyone could use it like Delicious, but for tagging anything they want in the real world. Learning a mobile platform and creating the backend was always too much trouble for what is really just a fun little project. Now, I could write it in potentially less time than it’s taking me to write this post. The Human.io API lets developers create mini-apps within its iOS and Android apps, with access to the camera and user location.
Facebook is making it easier for developers to encourage their users to take advantage of free virtual credits. Amazon is creating a new class of consultants from its new partner network. Plus: ZenDesk gets a new API, Gumroad launches officially and 10 new APIs.
