15 APIs Used in 7 Days: Klout, Bit.ly and PeerIndex

This past week 6 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 15 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include BookMoochPeekYou Social AnalyticsTravel Booking Engine and Travel Booking Network. The most often used APIs this week areGoodreadsGoogle Maps and Twitter. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Travel (4 APIs, 4 mashups), Social (3 APIs, 4 mashups) and Internet (2 APIs, 2 mashups).


Taking a Break or Did Kobo In Reality Lose Access to the Goodreads API?

If you were to pull up Kobo’s website right now, you would notice that all of the book ratings and reviews previously on the site are now suddenly gone.


531 Reference APIs: GeoNames, Wikipedia and CrunchBase

GeoNamesOur API directory now includes 531 reference APIs. The newest is the CanLII API. The most popular, in terms of mashups, is the GeoNames API. We list 88 GeoNames mashups. Below you’ll find some more stats from the directory, including the entire list of reference APIs.


29 APIs Used in 7 Days: GitHub, SendGrid and Goodreads

This past week 6 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 29 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include Assembla, Baby Names, Behance, Coderwall Profile, Dribbble, Envato, Forrst, Geeklist, Hacker News Mobile, jsFiddle, Launchpad, Ohloh, Plunker, Primal, Readability , RubyGems and ScraperWiki. The most often used APIs this week are Dribbble, Rotten Tomatoes and ScraperWiki. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Social (7 APIs, 7 mashups), Tools (4 APIs, 4 mashups) and Other (3 APIs, 3 mashups). The list below shows which APIs were used by which mashups:
