Breaking Down E-Commerce APIs

E-Commerce covers a broad range of inter-connected processes which eventually leads to a transaction between two or more parties. Recent enhancements in technology, specifically social interactions on the Web, have increased the complexity in analyzing these processes and describing E-Commerce as a whole. And, to be honest, there is a lot of confusion within the terminology of “E-Commerce” itself. The exact definition of E-Commerce varies depending on your source, and you might hear words like e-business, e-retailing, and online shopping all used interchangeably. Mind you, they all have different meanings.


Get Holistic and Scientific with GoodGuide

GoodGuideGoodGuide is a service that we have been using as a family for a while.  It attempts to analyze a product holistically & scientifically to produce a simple 1 to 10 rating of its “goodness.”  I am personally satisfied to see that the GoodGuide API will share this data with the world.

This week we had 18 new APIs added to our API directory including a speech recognition service, dining deals search service, email marketing service, album cover archive, online avatar service, temporary email service, social reading record, image manipulation service, SMS group message service and semantic text analysis service. GoodGuideGoodGuide is a service that we have been using as a family for a while. It attempts to analyze a product holistically to produce a simple 1 to 10 rating of its ‘goodness.’ I am personally satisfied to see that the GoodGuide API will share this data with the world. Many consumers would love to choose products based on their total “goodness” but how can you possibly investigate all the companies and products that are out there?
