New Science Journal Data APIs are Worlds Apart

Cambridge Journals OnlineScientific journals are providing greater access to published research by releasing new APIs. Cambridge Journals Online API and Public Library of Science Article Level Metrics API have both been released in the past several weeks. Meanwhile, the European Commission has just completed a public consultation on open access to research data ahead of a new wave of policy reform and their next big research funding round.

43 New APIs: StubHub, AppURL and Miniflux

This week we had 43 new APIs added to our API directory including a service to connect applications to HTTP URLs, online marketplace for event tickets, RSS feed reading service, application monetization platform and human body 3D imaging service. We also covered an API to help with the recruiting process as well as a bug reporting service. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.

Poikos Launches FlitFit API to Capture and Integrate Body Measurements with Third Party Apps

FlixFitPoikos, computer vision system provider, has launched the FlixFit API that allows third party apps and websites to capture high quality human body measurements through imaging. The current goal of Poikos’ measurement technology is to improve online retail experiences by understanding EXACTLY what size to order without leaving home.
