39 New APIs: StatusPage, Lelylan and Point.io

This week we had 39 new APIs added to our API directory including a home and electronic device automation service, mobile application building and management service, application status page platform, multi-factor authentication for smartphones and tablets and external vulnerability scanning solution. In addition we covered a cloud based time-tracking platform and a face recognition API. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.


Eyedea—Just Another Pretty Face (Recognition API)?: Implications of a Crowded Marketplace

Eyedea Facedetector Czech-based eyedea Recognition has released a face detection API. It joins a list of some 38 in our API directory related to face detection. It’s hard to tell how these offerings will stand out from the crowd. (By way of comparison, last October I wrote up Skybiometry.) Once the identity, gender, approximate age, and the ability to count the number of people in a room have been nailed, what else is there?
