Our API directory now includes 160 music APIs. The newest is the Spotify Apps API. The most popular, in terms of mashups, is the Last.fm API. We list 206 Last.fm mashups. Below you’ll find some more stats from the directory, including the entire list of music APIs.
Today thirty two startups will take the stage at SXSW Accelerator to battle to be named the best. Last year’s overall winner became the largest mashup acquisition ever when it was gobbled up by Apple a month later. Who will be the winner this year? Chances look good that it will have an API. Below are the finalists that are in our directory.
This week we had 54 new APIs added to our API directory including a speech recognition service, business instant messaging software, blogging platform, event listing service and URL shortening. We looked more in-depth at some of these, including Wisconsin Transit Tracker, a Geo API for Wikipedia and Cohuman’s API Contest. Below is more detail on each of the 54 new APIs.
