In one case, it’s a way to visualize how quickly tweets are shooting around the Twitterverse. Another brings what might be all of the graffiti multimedia on the web to one place. And finally, enjoy the anachronism of watching your YouTube videos in an old timey television.
This past week 17 new mashups were add to our mashup directory and 15 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include Google Wave. The most often used APIs this week are Google Maps, Twilio, and Twitter. And the most frequently used types of APIs were Mapping (2 APIs, 5 mashups) and Social. The list below shows which APIs were used by which mashups:
Popular social news service Digg has announced some changes to its API (our Digg API Profile) that should make existing and prospective developers who use the API a bit happier.
Along with the rapid growth of video APIs, the marketplace of photo-related APIs continues to expand rapidly. Since we looked at 36 Photo APIs earlier this year, we’ve added nearly a dozen new ones, and there are now 47 APIs tagged “photo” in our web service directory.
Daylife has announced the winners of the 2008 DayPI Developer Challenge. Their DayPI is a unique API for building news-based applications. We wrote about the DayPI Developer Challenge last month.
