Our API directory now includes 221 marketing APIs. The newest is the Front Door Daily Deals API. The most popular, in terms of mashups, is the SendGrid API. We list 10 SendGrid mashups. Below you’ll find some more stats from the directory, including the entire list of marketing APIs.
This week we had 74 new APIs added to our API directory including a large dataset querying service, badge creation and earning system, social product recommendation platform and an API integration platform. In addition, we covered a new API that enables B@B personalization marketing, an alternative to the Face.com API, the first Mark Wahlberg API and the release of the DGCourseReview API. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.
Of the many APIs we published this week, eight were highlighted on the blog by our team of writers. In this post, we’ll shine a spotlight on those eight, which included the LambdaLabs Face API for facial detection, which takes up where the Face.com API left off. We said it’s a great first release, but needs to add face recognition in addition to detection. That feature is coming soon. Personalization tools have long existed allowing marketers to custom tailor online marketing to consumers. However, business to business marketing has eluded personalization tools until Demandbase created its Real-time Identification service: a “service [that] bridges the gap between known and anonymous web visitors by identifying and segmenting the companies visiting a website, and providing detailed, targetable business attributes in real-time.” Now, Demandbase is making its Real-time Identification platform available to third party developers via an the Demandbase API.
Several announcements already out of the Portland API Hackday. The StormPath API is expanding its developer tools and sharing six months worth of API best practices knowledge. Mashery has released a new client library generation project as open source. Plus: cheap Postgres hosting on Heroku, Programmable Webster and 16 new APIs.
