With the weekend coming up let’s take a look back at the mashups that were added to the ProgrammableWeb mashup directory over the last couple of weeks. We’ll cover mashups that include a tool for local discovery, a jukebox for your phone, a political social network and an app showing real time statuses of DC metro lines. Read below for more details on each.
This past week 7 new mashups were added to our mashup directory and 18 different APIs were used to build them. Some of the newer or less frequently seen APIs include Airbrake , Deezer, exfm, GeoNB, New Relic, RunKeeper Health Graph and VK. The most often used APIs this week are Facebook, Google Maps and New Relic. And the most commonly used types of APIs were Music (5 APIs, 5 mashups), Mapping (3 APIs, 4 mashups) and Social (3 APIs, 3 mashups). The list below shows which APIs were used by which mashups:
Deezer, a web-based music streaming service company based in Paris, France, has announced the launch of an affiliate program for developers along with upgrades to the Deezer API.
Deezer has announces changes to its API that include an affiliate deal. Facebook released its schedule for mobile developer conferences in 2013. Plus: a new look for Custom Search control panel and Shiva provides a RESTful API for private music collections.
Our API directory now includes 34 streaming APIs. The newest is the Furk.net API. The most popular, in terms of mashups, is the Tinysong API. We list 6 Tinysong mashups. Below you’ll find some more stats from the directory, including the entire list of streaming APIs.
Deezer announced a new set of APIs and the accompanying “app Studio”. Amazon takes its Maps API from public beta to full release. Plus: LinkedIn launches Ads API, enabling custom tools for large-scale campaigns, VStorage API support focus of Symantec-Veeam battle and 20 new APIs.
Our API directory now includes 453 search APIs. The newest is the Automatton Instant Answers API. The most popular, in terms of mashups, is the eBay API. We list 220 eBay mashups. Below you’ll find some more stats from the directory, including the entire list of search APIs.
This week we had 59 new APIs added to our API directory including a StumbleUpon URL utility, semantic text analysis service, SMS marketing service, financial analysis, planning, and reporting service, Intuit hosted payments service and a data analysis and management service. In addition we looked at how the Screenr API can help support your systems. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.
