We live in a world that does not wait for anything. Today my computer took longer than 20 seconds to start and I literally started wondering if I needed to buy a new one. With this in mind, consider the importance of uptime and reliability to app designers. During the AWS outage I can still remember a friend of mine posting a photo to facebook with the addendum included, “instagram is down, I will re-post this tomorrow” signaling to all his friends that things will be OK.
