Mobile Spurs Growth of Payment APIs

DwollaThe growth of APIs owes a lot of thanks to mobile. The reverse is also true, as APIs make possible much of what happens on mobile devices. Along the way, popular API segments have grown with mobile-specific offerings. Perhaps predictably, mobile payments is one of those areas of hyper growth. The most recent crop of mobile payment APIs focuses on specific platforms much of the time, either in addition to or instead of a more universal RESTful API.


API Spotlight: Edamam, BancBox, and Wevideo APIs

Of the many APIs we published this week, nine were highlighted on the blog by our team of writers. In this post, we’ll shine a spotlight on those nine, which included Edamam API. Edamam is a company committed to helping people eat better. To do this they provide recipe information to users as well as an API that allows developers access to the same data.  The free version of the API provides calorie content, serving size, diet tags, and more. BancBox Releases Industry’s First Escrow Service for Crowdfunding: BancBox Crowd

BancBoxBancBox, payment services provider, has announced a new service and correlating API: BancBox Crowd. BancBox Crowd consists of the first independent escrow service for debt, equity, and revenue share crowdfunding portals. The service provides an online portal that eliminates the legacy escrow process (e.g. paperwork, waiting, etc.).

This week we had 56 new APIs added to our API directory including a social media marketing platform, people counting analytics service, application integration service, website visitor activity monitoring service, and hotel and accommodation check-in service.
