Placester, a real estate technology and marketing company, has announced the launch of the Placester Developer Platform for Real Estate, a brand new platform that allows developers to create dynamic real estate websites and applications. The platform consists of four components; a RESTful API, an IDX plugin for WordPress, a theme-framework and a theme gallery.
Two of the most important features of the new Placester Developer Platform are the Builder IDX plugin and the RESTful API.
Creating a custom real estate MLS search on a website or mobile application can be difficult and time consuming. The Century 21 Website Glossary defines MLS as:
“The Multiple Listing Service, or MLS, is a database that contains all the real estate listings in a given area. The only listings not included in this database are those that are for sale by owner. The common database allows real estate agents and home buyers to see all properties available. It also gives them search capabilities to narrow down the list of potential properties to those which meet the buyer’s criteria.”
The Builder IDX plugin instantly brings real-time listing data from 90 percent of the MLSs in the United States directly into WordPress. The Builder IDX plugin includes time saving development features out of the box such as customize property search, create areas or neighborhoods of focus, manage property listings, etc.
The Placester RESTful API allows developers full access to all platform features. All API calls require an API key which is supplied through the Placester plugin. Responses are returned in either XML or JSON data format. There are three types of Placester API calls; GET Multiple Listings, GET Single Listings, and Aggregate (GET).
The new Placester Developer Platform for Real Estate is available to developers and partners in the United States and Canada. Visit the official Placester website for more information about the platform.
