Using the SmartFile platform API, developers can integrate file sharing, storage, hosting and other file related functions with their applications. The Smartfile platform offers many file and FTP management features including API access, activity notifications, powerful search, custom branding, custom domain name, advanced file control and much more.

SmartFile is offering the first 3,000 developers that sign up for an account 100 GB file storage, unlimited data transfer and unlimited API requests. John Hurley, CEO and Co-Founder of SmartFile states in the press release that:

“Our platform enables developers and companies to develop and integrate applications almost instantly. Our proprietary infrastructure and our completely redeveloped stack have positioned SmartFile to be the only company to ever offer a service like this. This has never been done before.”

SmartFile has put together a really nice infographic that explains what an API is. Click on the image screenshot above to view the full size infographic.
