Soleo, a leading cloud-based communications solutions provider, has announced the launch of a brand new “2.0″ version of the Soleo API which allows mobile app publishers and developers access to Soleo’s database consisting of more than 1.5 million advertisers and real-time data for over 15 million local merchants.

The Soleo API offers mobile app publishers and developers the ability to provide app users with local information and content that is ad supported. Types of content provided by the Soleo API include merchant listings, ratings and reviews, deals and coupons, maps and more. The new Soleo API also provides publishers and developers an opportunity to monetize their mobile applications. Adaffix is the first partner to take advantage of Soleo’s vast repository of local data and pay-per-call revenue. Claudia Dreier-Poepperl, CEO and Founder of Adaffix says in the press release:
“We handle millions of calls every month through our CIA – Caller Identification App. Whenever a call to a business goes unanswered our app automatically suggests alternative merchants for the user to call. According to the press release, Soleo plans on releasing a series of APIs focusing on several local business categories such as restaurants, physicians, brokers, and contractors. Mike Wilson Chief Digital Officer at Soleo says in the press release:
“APIs for things like residential, points-of-interest, and government listings are next on our horizon. Additionally, we will support the Soleo API program in 2013 with hackathons, a commission program, and a developer forum – if you’re a developer around local, 2013 will be an exciting year.”
