Contactually, an email driven CRM platform and contact solutions provider, has announced that the company has raised $1 million in seed funding largely due to venture capital firms Point Nine Capital and Boston Seed Capital. The company also announced the launch of the brand new Contactually API.

Now that the company has acquired substantial seed funding, Contactually will focus on building value-added partnerships with other SaaS providers by way of the new API. The API makes it possible for Contactually functionality and contact data to be integrated with SaaS products and third-party applications. The Contactually platform is already integrated with several well known tools such as Salesforce, Google Contacts, SugarCRM and MailChimp. Pawel Chudzinski, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Point Nine Capital, is quoted in the press release as saying:
“We are very impressed with the team behind Contactually, the product they have built in such a short time, the traction it gets with users and the vision behind the company. They’re offering a truly unique solution to help professionals proactively engage with their most important relationships.”
The Contactually API allows developers to create third-party applications that include Contactually platform functionality and that will “sync” communication data with other integrated platforms such as SalesForce. The API is based on standard REST architecture and all data is returned in JSON format. In the press release, Tony Cappaert, Contactually COO and Co-Founder, says:
“We’re really excited to launch our new API. Everything you see in Contactually is now accessible externally, and we’re already seeing a lot of innovation from our current partners. Other companies and developers shouldn’t have to worry about building out a contact manager, because Contactually can automatically organize and sync contacts for their app from anywhere.”
More information about partnering with Contactually and using the new API can be found on the company website.
