Event ticketing service SeatGeek has made its internal recommendations service available in the SeatGeek API. Developers can now integrate the advanced recommendations functionality of the SeatGeek platform into websites and applications.
SeatGeek is a ticket search engine that helps consumers find the best deals on live events which includes music concerts, Broadway plays, sporting events and more. The SeatGeek search engine scours through all major secondary market ticket sellers and many minor sellers including TicketsNow, TicketNetwork, Ticket Exchange, eBay and many more.
The new and improved SeatGeek Event Recommendations API takes multiple music preferences of users and applies “clever math and compute affinity scores in real time” that produces far more accurate sets of recommendations.
The SeatGeek Developer blog provides detailed examples and explanations (with pictures!) of how the new recommendation engine computes user recommendation sets. SeatGeek’s advanced recommendation service is already being used in the recommendations calendar on seatgeek.com and in SeatGeek’s concert recommendation Spotify app.
Developers interested in using the SeatGeek Event Recommendations API in their applications can find more information at the SeatGeek Platform API documentation site.
