This week we had 54 new APIs added to our API directory including a voice and SMS communications for apps, email and file migration service, in app SMS messaging service, html5 video player, twitter influence measurement service. Additionally we covered the CheckInOn.Me API. Below are more details on each of these new APIs.
Altmetric API: Altmetric is a powerful web application that tracks online conversations about scientific articles. It searches for mentions of scholarly works on social media sites, scholarly bookmarking services, and in science news outlets. Altmetric collects and analyzes hundreds of thousands of postings about tens of thousands of articles and datasets each month.
This data is made available to end users through a web interface and to developers through an API. The Altmetric API functions using REST calls issued in JSON and JSONP.
Asos API: ASOS is a global online beauty and fashion retailer. The ASOS API provides RESTful access to the ASOS catalogue including customer shopping basket and wish list functionality. Results are exclusively JSON formatted.
AT&T Call Management API: The AT&T Call Management (Beta), powered by Tropo, allows developers to add real time, cross-carrier voice communications to their apps. The API offers communication commands such as answer, ask, call, conference, say, transfer and more for crafting customized experiences for customers. Possible application functionality includes send or receive calls, provide Interactive Voice Response (IVR) logic, Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Voice to Text (VTT), Text (SMS) integration, and more. The API uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in XML and JSON.
CheckInOn.Me API: CheckInOn.Me is an automated personal safety system. Users can create customized routines for CheckInOn.Me to contact mobile devices. Users respond with a personalized “I’m OK” word. The CheckInOn.Me API provides RESTful interface for developers to build entire personal safety systems.
Chevereto API: Chevereto is an image hosting service. Chevereto offers image hosting features like multiple file uploads, image management, and sharing services.
The Cheverto API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Cheverto with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include retrieving information about images, uploading and managing images, and resizing images.
Clickatell Connect API: One of eight SMS APIs offered by Clickatell. Clickatell covers over 819 networks in more than 220 countries. Clickatell will connect you to the wireless world through simple integration. You will be able to send SMS messages around the world to your clients, staff or user-database. All our APIs support text, Unicode, binary SMS and flash messaging.
Clickatell’s XML based Connect API makes it possible for third-party web and mobile application users to register and activate a Clickatell SMS service account, buy messaging credits and two way messaging capabilities, and perform other SMS functions all from within the application.
ClojureDocs API: ClojureDocs is a community-powered documentation and example repository for the Clojure programming language. ClojureDocs provides a simple API for developing applications and tools that integrate with its contents and functions. This RESTful API provides programmatic methods for looking up examples and comments, searching for functions by name, and retrieving a list of existing Clojure versions.
Decibel CMS API: Decibel is an online content management system. In addition to the CMS, Decibel also offers products for building web based apps, managed hosting and analytics. The CMS can be used for developing a broad range of websites, extranets, intranets and web-based business applications. The Open API is a hybrid solution combining the best of open source and proprietary systems. The Open API enables developers to configure and extend Decibel by creating an App rather than editing it directly. Full public documentation is not available.
Deepax SMS API: The service provides SMS text messaging triggered by a number of methods, including HTTP calls, SMPP connection, and upload of Excel files. In each case, the user application specifies the recipient number and message body text, either as URL parameters or data recorded in spreadsheet cells. The service can deliver individual messages generated for specific purposes or bulk SMS messaging to deliver the same message to multiple recipients.
Message delivery can reach recipients via more than 820 mobile networks worldwide.
API methods support submission of HTTP requests with parameters specifying recipient and message text. Methods also allow uploads of files specifying message and recipient. The API accepts and routes replies and other inbound text messages and provides account management functions like available balance inquiries.
EAN Data API: EAN Data provides a collection of EAN-13, UPC-A, UPC-E, and ISBN-10 codes for data on products. EAN Data provides product descriptions, categories, company information, and price information.
The EAN Data API allows developers to access and integrate the data from EAN Data with other applications and to create new applications. The main API method returns a data feed of products and product information.
Earth911 Search API: Earth911 specializes in providing people across the country with useful and accessible recycling information. Among other site features, they also boast the largest and most accurate recycling directory in the U.S. The Earth911 Search API enables developers to add the ability to search this directory to any website, mobile application, or phone number. The API uses REST calls issued in JSON format.
Elgg API: Elgg is an open-source social networking service. Elgg allows users to build customized social networks for their groups, workplace, campus, and friends.
The Elgg API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Elgg with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include building APIs, managing users, and retrieving network information.
Ensembl API: Ensembl is a joint project between EMBL – EBI and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. The project produces genome databases for vertebrates and other eukaryotic species including mice, humans, zebrafish, horses, gorillas, cats, chimpanzees, platypuses, ducks, fruitflies, and many others. This information is made freely available online. The databases can be searched directly from the Ensembl website or by using Ensembl's REST API.
FetchApp API: FetchApp is an online service that allows users to sell digital goods through various applications and websites. FetchApp allows users to sell digital goods such as photos, music, e-books, and videos from blogs, websites, and other eCommerce sites.
The FetchApp API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of FetchApp with other applications. Some example API methods include retrieving and managing account information, retrieving and managing items, and retrieving and managing orders.
figshare API: Figshare allows researchers to publish all of their research online in an easily citable, sharable, and discoverable manner. All file formats can be published, including videos and datasets. Creative commons licensing permits research to be easily shared while still allowing researchers to maintain ownership of their findings. Figshare gives users unlimited public space and 1GB of private storage space for free.
The figshare API enables other programs to make use of figshare’s functionality and content. This API employs REST calls and can be accessed and used by anyone.
Financial Services Authority GABRIEL API: The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is the financial regulator for the UK. The FSA hosts GABRIEL (GAthering Better Regulatory Information ELectronically), an online system for the collection, validation, and storage of regulatory data. The FSA GABRIEL API enables users to build a connection to the GABRIEL direct submissions gateway. This API uses SOAP-based calls issued in XML format.
FlexPaper API: FlexPaper is an open-source document viewer for the web, mobile, and tables. FlexPaper offers features to manage and publish documents to multiple platforms.
The FlexPaper API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of FlexPaper with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include managing documents, navigating documents, and searching text.
Flowplayer API: Flowplayer is an HTML5 video player for the web, mobile, and tablet. Flowplayer offers features like various skins, CSS customization, and embedding ability for websites and applications.

FRA Safety Data Download API: The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has many functions relating to the maintenance, regulation, and administration of railroads in the U.S. In the course of fulfilling these functions, the FRA collects and stores a great deal of safety-related information. The FRA provides methods for online visitors to download this information using SOAP calls. Information is returned in XML format.
GEMStat API: The Global Environment Monitoring System (GEMS) is a multi-faceted water science center created by the United Nations Environment Programme. GEMS' goals are to improve global water quality monitoring and assessment abilities and to determine the status and trends of regional and global water quality. GEMStat is a global water quality database designed to provide access to surface and groundwater quality data and statistics collected by GEMS.
GEMStat provides two online services for accessing its data: the Web Feature Service and the Web Map Service. The Web Feature Service returns information on GEMS stations and the measurements they've taken. The Web Map Service provides maps of GEMS station locations. Both of these services are accessible programmatically using either SOAP or REST calls.
GlobalSign API: GlobalSign is a trust services provider offering Digital Certificates to people, servers and mobile devices for Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) enabled solutions and applications. GlobalSign has developed a number of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) designed for Partners to automate the ordering and delivery of customer's SSL Certificates. Using an API will help you create a robust and scalable SSL business as a GlobalSign partner. The XML API connects your systems to GlobalSign, giving real time CSR parsing, error checking and allows full querying on order status and Certificate delivery via HTTPS stream or directly to end customers by Partner branded email.
Google Apps Group Migration API: The Google Apps Group Migration API allows developers to migrate emails and files from email distribution lists and public folders to Google Group discussion archives. The API's main method is uploading and migrating emails and files to the archive.
HRSA Data Warehouse API: The HRSA (Health Resources and Services Administration) Data Warehouse is a public database provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. A portion of the database's contents are accessible using the HRSA Data Warehouse SOAP API.
The API can retrieve information on active grants, local resources, health care service delivery sites, health centers, "Insure Kids Now" dental care providers, opportunities for health professionals, organ procurement organizations, organ transplant centers, and Ryan White HIV/AIDS medical care providers.
IDS Knowledge Services API: IDS Knowledge Services provides access to tens of thousands of research documents regarding poverty reduction in the developing world. All of these documents are freely available online. IDS provides bibliographic information about the research, including the title, author's name, date published, and publishing organization. Abstracts are specifically written for each document to help users decide whether to download the full text.
IDS Knowledge Services provides a RESTful API to make their datasets programmatically accessible to other organizations and individuals.
imobeCommerce API: imobeCommerce is a Mobile application that allows developers to integrate their eCommerce website into their existing mobile application. Integration includes an eCommerce site's catalog, inventory and orders.
The API can be used to access the functionality programatically. This includes the ability to get a list of all categories which need to be shown in a user's mobile store, list products under a certain category, create a user account, list daily deals, search and more. The API uses RESTful calls and responses can be in XML or JSON.
Leaguevine API: Leaguevine is an online and mobile platform that allows users to create their personalized sports profiles, add statistics, and interact with other Leaguevine users.
The Leaguevine API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Leaguevine with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include retrieving and managing league and player information, managing account information, and retrieving information on teams, leagues, and games.
LinuxFr.org API: The service provides Open Authentication based on credentials for a user account with the provider's service. An application is registered with the provider to define its access credentials, then the service allows access to that private account information and completion of actions on behalf of the account. In this way, it avoids the need to create multiple user accounts and disclose personal information for access to separate services.
API methods support obtaining an authorization token for an account registered with the provider and validating the account's status. The authenticating application can then resubmit the token string to access the user's registered authentication credentials.
Lvvki API: Lvvki provides images of restaurants and venues in various cities. Photographers can upload and sell their photos to Lvvki and publishers can purchase the images for use.
The Lvvki API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality and photos of Lvvki with other applications. The Lvvki API returns restaurant and venue information by high-level tags, such as "exterior" and "interior." Mobage API: Mobage is a gaming platform powering free social games for iOS and Android. The Mobage API provides a RESTful API allowing developers to perform authentication, banking and social actions. URLs vary depending on locale and environment type, and responses are JSON formatted.
Mogotest API: Mogotest is a Web Consistency Testing service. The service lets users test their websites offering a number of features such as cross browser compatibility reports, regression testing, screenshot comparisons, authentication and more. The Mogotest API allows user to run tests against their sites programmatically and integrate with their existing testing and deployment tools. The API uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in XML, JSON and HTML.
Namba.kg API: The Russian-language service provides social networking and interactions focused on music, movies, and other media for users in the central Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan. Users interact via online discussions and other contacts to discuss and share information about popular films, television, and music, along with user posted photos, status messages, and other communications.
API methods support access to information about a user account, including the user's friend connections, status updates, messages, lists of videos and photos, and related resources on the platform. Methods also allow updating a user's status messages and creating and updating events.
Nate/Cyworld API: The service provides a Korean-language social networking platform with capabilities to integrate elements from MySpace and deliver content from a user account to other sites where that person has a presence. Specific mobile device APIs connect content across delivery platforms. Fan and friend capabilities allow users to incorporate interests and social connections with site content.
API methods support integration of MySpace features like photo album, diary, and guestbook. Methods also support a site-specific microblogging function incorporating short text notes optionally incorporating images. The API allows export of a user's content on the site, as well. Specific mobile device APIs adapt the site content and functions for multiple delivery environments.
Ontimenow API: OnTime Scrum is a project management tool for developers to manage backlog, sprints, and bug tracking. The Ontimenow Scrum API uses REST calls and opens up the Ontime data to 3rd-party developers. The API includes calls to check attachments, contacts, customers, view defects to be corrected, check features, tasks, incidents, projects, releases and users.
Opinionage API: The service provides for comparison of opinions expressed online in blog posts and statements on social networking sites. It allows for linking and comparisons among statements on a topic to trigger evaluation of persuasive effect and influence on the opinions of others. The goal of the service is to foster dialogue and comparison among statements of opinion in a way that captures attention of audiences interested in a topic, including public officials and other decision makers.
API methods support definition and interaction with application domains. Methods allow creation and management of user listings and applications associated with those users along with topic and category tags to match statements of opinion about the same matter. The API also handles comments on statements of opinion logged with the service.
PiXlogic piXserve API: piXlogic is a provider of visual search software that automatically analyzes, searches and indexed the visual contents of images and video. PVOutput Service API: PVOutput is a free service for sharing, evaluating, and comparing photovoltaic solar panel output data. The PVOutput Service API provides a developer interface for sending and receiving photovoltaic output data.
Retail Intelligence Data API: Retail Intelligence Data by Digital Folio provides real-time and historical information on major retailer pricing data, as well as stock levels, channel availability, and reference data.

Schedulr API: Schedulr is a JSON web service which can invoke a URL at a scheduled time. In that callback implementation, users can either put the logic to complete the task online or if it's a time consuming one, users can queue it up so that background consumers can finish it.
Sendy API: Sendy is a email newsletter application that allows users to send email newsletters that are self-hosted. Users can manage their lists, create autoresponders, and manage and send email newsletters.
The Sendy API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Sendy with other applications. Current API methods include importing and exporting email subscribers.
SERPs SEO & Rankings API: SERPs.com is an SEO dashboard that lets users easily identify what's working and what isn't. It lets users do correlation testing by automatically logging their rankings and traffic after any event. All keyword rankings are updated each morning, dashboard access can be sold to clients, dashboards can be branded and all data is kept secure. The API allows SERPs.com subscribers to access historical rankings for their account from both Google and Bing. It uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in JSON.
SigningHub.com API: SigningHub is an online document signing service. Users can upload docs to the service, prepare them for signatures, review and then sign them. SigningHub also offers an API that allows developers to integrate e-signature functionality into their own websites and apps. The API allows for adding users, uploading documents, defining a workflow and tracking documents. It uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in XML.
SimplyCast API: SimplyCast is an online marketing service. SimplyCast offers email marketing solutions, event management services, online surveys, SMS marketing, and contact management.

Tejarat Bank Payment Gateway API: Tejarat Bank offers online payment services through its Payment Gateway. Users can designate up to 5 accounts from which they would like to withdraw funds for transfer operations. The accounts receiving funds (remittance accounts) may belong to the user or to others. The Payment Gateway can be accessed programmatically using a SOAP API. The maximum transferable amount is currently 20,000,000 Iranian rial per working day. The website is provided in Persian with translations available in English, French, and German.
TransUnion MedData External Submission Portal API: The MedData External Submission Portal API is the online, programmatic access point for TransUnion MedConnect. TransUnion MedConnect is a service that gives healthcare providers a single location from which they can process and report on critical transactions such as eligibility and benefits verifications, claim status inquiries, and referrals. The API enables users to access these services using SOAP calls.
Treasure Data API: Treasure Data provides data-driven companies with cloud data warehousing services that enable them to get big data analytics running in a matter of days without specialist IT resources. Data can be imported directly from existing infrastructure, regardless of coding language. SSL encryption ensures the security of data while it is being transferred to the cloud. Treasure Data provides a RESTful API that enables users to POST data to or GET data from their company's cloud data warehouse.
TunkRank API: TunkRank is a tool for measuring influence on Twitter. A feed's influence depends not only the number of followers it has, but on the amount of attention all of its followers can give. The amount of attention a follower can give is spread out among all the feeds they follow. The more feeds someone follows, the less attention they can give each one. TunkRank's influence measurements can be accessed programmatically using REST calls issued in either XML or JSON format.
Viggle API: Viggle is a social TV platform that rewards users for "checking in" to shows they are watching. Users earn loyalty rewards for watching TV shows.

WebMoney API: The service from Russia processes payments for online transactions such as e-commerce purchases. It is offered as a payment method option alongside credit cards and other methods. It generates an invoice for a completed transaction for online delivery to the buyer. Upon transfer of funds from the buyer, the service triggers fulfillment of the purchased good or service and brokers payment to the seller. This clearinghouse function protects sellers from defaulted payments while saving buyers from the need to create payment accounts with multiple sellers all holding their personal information.
API methods support submission of a transaction for payment and delivery of an invoice to the buyer. Methods support collection of funds from buyer and distribution to seller, along with the resulting trigger to fulfill delivery of the purchased product.
