34 Tagging APIs: Zemanta, 43Things and Evernote

Our API directory now includes 34 tagging APIs. The newest is the Ontos API. The most popular, in terms of mashups, is the Zemanta API. We list 6 Zemanta mashups. Below you’ll find some more stats from the directory, including the entire list of tagging APIs.

In terms of the technical details, REST and XML lead the way. There are 25 tagging REST APIs and 4 tagging SOAP APIs. Our directory lists 18 tagging XML APIs and 14 tagging JSON APIs.

The most common tags within tagging are 10 semantic tagging APIs, 7 social tagging APIs and 5 search tagging APIs.

On the mashup side, we list 14 tagging mashups. We named termCloud Search as mashup of the day in December 2008.
