Kickstarter Twitter App Turns Retweets Into Sweets

Adam DuVander, February 9th, 2012

TwitterWe’ve seen SMS garage door openers that connect APIs to physical objects. A new app and hardware combo built on the Twitter API looks to give you a physical treat for retweets.

The Kickstarter project has half a day to go and a ways before it becomes a reality outside of the prototypes created by project creator Benjamin Redford.

The app, nicknamed “Molly,” delivers candy based upon a specified number of retweets. In addition to the wonderful feeling of being retweeted, Molly also gives a physical treat, as the video (embedded above) shows. Molly’s sibling, Olly, is a similar concept with smells and is another part of the project.
