Best New Mashups: Find the Lyrics, Instantly

MusixMatchWhat’s that song that begins “the night we met I knew I needed you so?” There are two new mashups that can help you find the answer to that–right now. Both use the MusixMatch API for lyrics search and present the results “instantly.” We wrote about APIs fueling the instant frenzy in September, shortly after Google Ajax-ified its search. Including the two lyrics mashups below, we now list 22 instant mashups.

  • Jiffy Lyrics: A Google-like instant lyrics search website using musiXmatch's API and Amazon's MP3 Clips Widget for previews. APIs: MusixMatch. More at our Jiffy Lyrics profile.
  • Jiffy Lyrics

  • instaLyrics: The lyrics instant search engine APIs: Facebook, MusicBrainz, MusixMatch, Twitter, YouTube. More at our instaLyrics profile.
  • instaLyrics

And what about those lyrics I referenced above? That’s from Be My Baby, made famous by the Ronettes (video embedded below) in 1963. The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson considers it the best pop song ever made. Give a listen and see if you agree, then visit the mashups above to find the lyrics stuck in your head.
