100 Apps in 100 Days Awarding 100+ Prizes

Alcatel-Lucent OpenIt’s a hefty goal to produce 100 applications in 100 days, but that’s the challenge being thrown down in a contest that aims to award a monetary prize for each of the 100 apps chosen. ProgrammableWeb is partnering with Alcatel-Lucent and Top Coder for 100 Apps in 100 Days, with $165,000 in prizes across four milestones between now and December.

Alcatel-Lucent, communications solutions provider and parent company to ProgrammableWeb, maintains an Open API Service and Open API Labs. Incorporating one of these services is required for all contest entries. Additionally, you must use at least one third party API listed in our API directory.

Prizes are separated by category and platform, covering most potential applications. Categories are travel, health care, financial services, retail, media and “other.” Platforms are iOS (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch), Android, Feature Phone and Web.

Our list of API contests has been well stocked lately, as we first noted in July.
