Microsoft has just released a new Silverlight version of Bing Maps that is full of new features and upgrades. Although it’s hard to say whether this release of Bing Maps has “stolen the cool crown” from Google, the new features do provide some additional value for users. The “beta” release is not yet available by default, though you can preview the latest version at: http://www.bing.com/maps/explore.
Google Analytics is one of the most popular, and free, ways to track web site statistics. It is not uncommon for web masters to use Google Analytics to monitor several different domains, possibly using more than one Google account to do so. But while Google Analytics is a powerful tool, getting a concise overview of these separate statistics can be difficult. The folks at Trakken GmbH thought so too, and so they used the Google Analytics API to create Trakkboard.
The non-profit built for “opening America’s government” has created an app to show off its Congressional data, as well as its API (our Sunlight Labs API profile). You can’t get this app on the web, though, as it’s available exclusively for the Android phone platform.
