6 New APIs: The Bible, Cloud Storage, Web Site Monitoring, and Text to Speech

John Musser, September 13th, 2009

This week we had 6 new APIs added to our API directory. These included new web services for getting access to passages from the Bible, storage in the cloud, an editable and programmable directory, a service for storing web pages for later access, 24×7 web site monitoring, and a text-to-speech (TTS) service. Here are details on each of these new listings:

Bible.orgBible.org API: Bible.org provides users with access to passages of the Bible, along with additional features that allow users to interact. The NET Bible API gives developers access to passages using a simple endpoint and not requiring an account or key.

LibDirLibDir API: LibDir is an openly editable web directory. Submissions, changes, and deletions all appear instantly. The LibDir API provides access to the various submissions and entries available in the LibDir database.

MezeoMezeo API: Mezeo provides a software platform for the deployment of white label cloud storage services that lets service providers quickly enter the cloud storage market. The Cloud Storage Platform API provides programmatic access to the cloud storage services hosted by Mezeo partners.

Read It LaterRead It Later API: The Read It Later API allows for applications that interact with Read It Later. Read It Later is a service that allows users to save web pages to read or use later. The API can be used to build a full featured Read It Later client for any platform, mashup reading list data, or allow users to save pages to their list from your application. The API can be used in both free and commerical applications.

Site24x7Site24×7 API: Site24×7 provides a website monitoring service for users. The Site24×7 API allows developers to integrate the services with their site. Features include the ability to add/modify monitors into Site24×7, obtain time graphs, obtain uptime and performance reports, and more.

VoiceForgeVoiceForge API: VoiceForge is an online speech service that allows users high quality text to speech audio (TTS). With the VoiceForge API, developers can simply send text and voice type, and receive the audio-equivalent content.
