Get Some Green For Your Green-Themed Site

Adam DuVander, August 10th, 2009

BingWant to launch a site today? There are only two more days to enter the Will Code for Green contest, which will pick five winners of economy- or ecology-themed web applications that consumes Bing search (our Bing API profile). The contest is being co-produced by Microsoft and the Gnomedex conference.

Two grand prize winners will received $10,000 each, while three runners up will get $3,000. Not bad for two days of work.

Will Code for Green

You still have a chance to win based on the gallery of current competitors. Only eleven are listed, though it’s possible everybody else is waiting until the last minute, too (typical for most mashup contests).

A panel of judges will choose the five semi-finalists based on effectiveness of solving a problem, innovation, usability and customer appeal. Then those five will demo their product on stage at the Gnomedex conference in Seattle later this month (August 20-22). The conference audience will select the two grand prize winners.

Check out the contest site for rules and other information. If you need a little more time, check out our list of mashup contests.
