What’s hot in APIs these days? If you look for clues in what APIs are most often used in new mashups listed here on ProgrammableWeb, it’s the Twitter API. Not a surprise given how hot the Twitter service is this year. As you can see from our recent weekly mashup summaries, hardly a week goes by without Twitter being one of the top 3 APIs. The chart below shows the top 10 APIs for the past two weeks:

Since these apps are being added to PW so frequently, we now have 210 Twitter mashups listed. To give a sense of the variety, here are three of the most recent:
Got Free Shipping?: Got Free Shipping allows you to browse and search eBay and Amazon for items with free shipping only. Tweets that talk about free shipping deals are integrated into the service. APIs: Amazon eCommerce, eBay, Twitter. More at our Got Free Shipping? profile.

TweeSpeed: The Twitter Instant Speed Meter. TweeSpeed is a web service giving you the number of tweets sent in the last minute. TweeSpeed is based on the public timeline, grab information for the 5 last minutes and calculate an average speed for one minute. APIs: Google App Engine, Google Visualization, Twitter. More at our TweeSpeed profile.

Tenant Txt: A service that apartment management can put in place to single or mass alert their community of any maintenance repairs, criminal activity, or community events via text message or Twitter. APIs: Twitter. More at our Tenant Txt profile.

Great article, reminding your readers that the META KEYWORDS is not used by Google search engines, to really capitalize on keywords you must embed them in your article and inside your META DESCRIPTION, leverage the keywords more than one time and early on in the article for maximum SEO benefit.

Link building is a very important part of a website-promotion on the internet. You contact webmasters of other, related websites them related boggers also and let them know your website exists. If the value that you have worked so hard your website is evident to them, they will assist their own customers by linking back to your website…

Wikipedia may in fact be one great shining example of Liberalism reified through its “virtual” manifestation, existence, and accessibility, and also vis-a-vis its “goodness” for the community and personal liberty – powerful and valuable in this way – but in that very beautiful Liberal attribute is the very seed of it’s complete innapropriateness for use as a primary or secondary source for any kind of referenceable critical or academic expression of thoughtful reasoning, as your very thoughtful and sincere post, whether I agree with it or not, certainly is…

That’s why other far more intelligent companies like Samsung put true newest next gen Broadcom technology in their products. That…. over going for the two year old cheap junk Apple went for. Apple? “…yeah let’s make it look nice…. who cares if it works” mentality. Just make it cheapest you can, so we’re putting more money in our pockets. Apple = True Gypsy Con Artist and Informercialistic Marketing at it’s finest. Forget the customers… they’re too dumb to tell the difference anyway….. Right? Pull a rabbit out of a hat while we have a shill expounding on the glories of Apple, while we pick their pockets! …..Well at least if you’re a CrApple iFan that is!!!

All of the above are very good points that every IT manager should be thinking about. One critical aspect is missing – I/O performance. All IT organizations are heavily using virtualization for the easier applications (web services, file servers, mail, test/dev), but the big trend in 2011 will be applying virtualization to the I/O intensive applications such as those built on Oracle/SAP/DB2 etc. Having performance and utilization monitoring tools that have a real-time view of the full SAN I/O stack (server-HBA-switch-array LUN) will be essential for any organization virtualizing mission-critical apps or moving them to a cloud implementation. Solutions like Virtual Instruments VirtualWisdom (for F1000 IT shops) or SolarWinds (for SMB sites) should be serious considerations.

Apart from the need of both business skills and medical
knowledge, dentists routinely perform very intricate handwork
to exceedingly narrow tolerances in challenging, confined
environments for conscious and sometimes wriggly people
who would prefer to be elsewhere ? and half the time we do
it through a mirror. Fillings that demand concentration and
eye-hand acrobatics to be done well enough to chew on
require unhurried dentistry..
at 11:22 pm
Butler adds: ?Overhead costs are huge. Anywhere from 60%
to 80% of what a patient pays goes toward the expense of
running a modern dental practice.? ..
at 11:23 pm
Thank you for this excellent post Sarah. As a wife of a dentist, I would say that your post is right on. Most people have no idea how much overhead goes into running a practice and that the Doc isn’t pocketing the full fee for the crown. Fees vary and you certainly have many instances where you get what you pay for. My husband and his partner select laboratories based on quality, not price as in the end, you want patients to be pleased with the results. Referrals are certainly the best way to find a dentist that will make you smile every time you mention their name..

I challenge this entire article, by the metric given the amount of merchandise Home Depot sell the complaint are actually far lower when compared to independent , window they make a mistake they reorder free of charge and so they do for anything else ,.
If you are a contractor and do not take in consideration the real fact one or 2 delivery will be late , you need to go back to school , because no one can control the weather no one can control deliveries , we all hope for the best and sometimes it does not happen , as a contractor should you not take this factor in your bid , if you do not you are not a contractor , nothing else but narcissist jack of all trades
at 11:23 pm
If you are a contractor you get the sales associate business card and you call before coming He or She will be there within 5 minutes of the schedule , there are not really excuse , you get days off so do they.
Appliances , there are no local independent they all refer you to the same factory repair co for service and in California appliances fall under the lemon laws the tech need to give so many service call before it can be replaced , it’s the law , not Home Depot rule.
None of the sales associates at Home depot are on commission..
at 11:24 pm
ho do you think is going to push that expensive sale against your interest small factor .
The difference between Home depot and local dealer is on the price which can be several hundreds dollars , we all have extra money to spare don’t we?
Knowledge of the product , most are very well versed in their appliances just as well as independent some far more . .
at 11:24 pm
Kitchen Cabinets according to Ms Julie Carlson “scandinavian name” editior in chief of remodelista.com , the same lady that blasted Home Depot for not being green but she use exclusively pencil made from cented cedar , the vast majority of the wood to make these very specific pencil come from old growth wood for the grain, so much for being green “a detail few people know” as an editor in chief I do expect her to be aware of that fact . Let’s talk about Her style , it is pure Scandinavian , nothing wrong per say but not much of
