A quick update on a couple of the more interesting new mashups from the past week (our directory is up to 3,500+ mashups using 400+ APIs):

TweetCongress.org: A grassroots effort to engage Congress on Twitter. Users can find their reps, see who is tweeting, and lobby them to join the Twitterverse. Built with the Twitter and Sunlight Labs APIs. As they say, “We the Tweeple…”. More at our TweetCongress profile.

SemantalyzR: A tool for analyzing web pages for keywords. Use its page analysis to find keyword links to custom search results pages that search multiple services at once for that keyword. A mashup of many interesting APIs: ClearForest Semantic Web Services1 + Dooblet + Flickr + Google Ajax Search + Thumbalizr + Twitter + Wikipedia + Yahoo Term Extraction. Hilarious - GO to the Tweet Congress site and click on “states”. Pick a state ( Texas for example )you’ll see a list of the politicians who do use Twitter - but note the one’s who don’t…

…the get a machine generated speech bubble with funny expressions. Ha!
