Non-Map Mashups Increase

Amazon APIWhile it may just be a blip in the steady stream of new mashups, there has recently been an uptick in the percentage of non-Google Maps mashups added to the database here. If you look at the Top Mashup Tags Chart you can see that for the last 14 days there has been more entries from other types of APIs including: YouTube (23 now), Flickr (109 mashups) and Amazon E-commerce (88 mashups):

This was the first two week stretch that maps mashups were less than forty percent of the total. For now this may be an anomaly but with the growing variety of APIs it will be interesting to see when maps consistently consume a smaller slice of the mashup pie.
