Rapid Growth for Amazon S3

Amazon’s S3 storage service seems to be taking-off quite nicely. As noted in today’s announcement they have over 800 million data objects stored on the service yet they only launced just over 4 months ago. People are finding a variety of interesting uses for the cost-effective services from backup to digital asset management to software distribution. Customers range from Microsoft to SmugMug to individual mashup developers.
