The Basecamp API

John Musser, March 29th, 2006

Basecamp37signals, creators of the innovative and instantly successful BaseCamp, this week unveiled an API for it. The fairly thorough API is REST-based and is quite similar to their existing Backpack API.

See their blog and forum for more details.

bcToolkit, a bi-product of Basecamp from 37signals allows you to set budgets for each project or todo you create in Basecamp from 37signals. bcToolkit then compares these budgets with the time entered in Basecamp by your team to give you a smart Basecamp reporting tool to track and analyse your Basecamp data. Basecamp is great for online collaboration and project management, but now with this Basecamp extra, bcToolkit, you can create Basecamp reports with one click and see if you are over or under budget on a project. You can track productivity or profitability with this easy to use Basecamp reporting tool that converts your Basecamp data into business-changing information.
