Salesforce.com API Means Business

John Musser, January 11th, 2006

Salesforce.comEarlier this week Saleforce.com blog (sforce) gave us this very interesting statistic about their web services APIs:

And from our modest beginnings with Sforce 1.0, we’ve seen the Sforce Web service API grow to account for over 40% of all of salesforce.com’s total traffic. Think about that for a minute – the API is almost as heavily used as the salesforce.com Web application.

Nearly half of all Salesforce.com traffic via their API! As Amazon, eBay and Salesforce.com demonstrate, if the provider is smart, there are ways to leverage APIs onto the bottom line. [via Moonwatcher]
